http://bit.ly/2iftRpE As we search further into the mysteries of #EQI and the main purveyor of earthquake insurance in the Golden State and land of quakes, we come up with▶ Given what we have already discovered and revealed in two previous posts on this blog, we now turn some attention to the process of obtaining a 2017 #EQI quote at the #CEA site▶ The reality of this educational exercise is that the search is basically useless to me as a purchase opportunity for the reasons that I will explain below▶ http://bit.ly/2iftRpE We are homeowners in a common interest development, aka homeowners association or HOA, but also residents of a condominium in a social benefit area (SBA) for that Inland Empire, Southern California community▶ While the #CEA site offers estimates on condo #EQI, the caveats at the site advise that customers must connect with one of their 24 licensed agent brokers (those the CEA calls "participating insurers" ▶http://bit.ly/2gbb8...

A CA condo conundrum: EQI

If you have been to the California Earthquake Authority  (CEA) website, you well realize the efforts of this quasi-governmental nonprofit to spur the marketing of earthquake insurance (EQI) in California.  Data at the CEA site explains that only about 12 percent of Californians actually have EQI at the present time.  It is almost impossible to find statistics on how many California condo owners have EQI, but it stands to reason that the percentages are less than the 12 percent number.  That's largely due to the fact that condo owners (because of the association factor) are disadvantaged in this marketplace, as the following video will attest.  ▶ Flip②▶  STORIFY  ♥  FLIPBOARD  ★  BLOGGER ▲ ALTACITIES  ® ▶  TWITTER See more in the 'social current see' with   3,800+ followers  on  FLIPBOARD   and the other media links noted above [ View the story "A CA condo conundrum: EQI" on Storify ]
