HASHTAG SEARCH : CYBERSECURITY https://goo.gl/dhpx84 (turn up the sound) We are back from  City of Hope  today, the middle of a cycle of three doctor visits and a round of blood tests, all part of our six-month checkup.  As readers of my blog know, we are approaching the 10th anniversary of the April 2006 diagnosis of  mantle cell lymphoma  (MCL).  Today's visit was with the  endocrinologist  and he, of course, reviewed and discussed our blood test results taken a week ago. Happy to say that all is well!  However, not too many miles away from that hospital location, another hospital in the LA area doesn't find some matters going so well. Fed subsidies to undo ACA (not?)

Image
Flip②▶ STORIFY The February 15 deadline has come and gone for the 2015 enrollment in Obamacare which means those still without health insurance in America will face penalties at the April 15 tax-filing time. Right?  Of course, we can't be so sure because the rules are constantly changing or being adjusted by the Obama Administration.  A year after the national roll-out of the PPACA, the only thing that is certain is that the supporters and the detractors about the law are still at odds on a multitude of issues. Flip②▶ STORIFY Preterm birth is the birth of a baby of less than 37 weeks gestational age; such a baby is sometimes referred to as a "preemie" or "premmie", depending on local pronunciation. The cause of preterm birth is in many situations elusive and unknown; many factors appear to be associated with the development of preterm birth, making the reduction of preterm birth a challenging proposition.  Now, there is new research into the long-term effects of premature births. How is Medicare Funded?

Image
As we know, Medicare is the single-largest health care coverage provider in the USA.  As such, Medicare.gov is the definitive source for information, not just about  Medicare  but also about health care providers, including hospitals and physicians . Learn about how  Medicare  is funded through 2 trust accounts held by the U.S. Treasury: the Hospital Insurance Trust Fund (which pays for  Medicare  Part A, inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing facility care, home health care, hospice care, and combating fraud and abuse), and the Supplementary Medical Insurance Trust Fund (which pays for  Medicare  Part B outpatient health care and  Medicare  Part D prescription drug coverage).
