"The average adolescent sends almost two thousand text messages a month. They contact their friends more by text than by phone or e-mail or instant-message or even face-to-face conversations," according to the source quoted below. Mobile phones and hand-held mobile devices are a general distraction and a pre-occupation for Gen-X & Y and soon to be the same for Gen-Z. Nothing on the horizon is likely to change that.  But not everything about this social trend is to be discarded, as the following 'social current see' will attest.

A 'moniker' for the 'social current see' about common interest developments, aka HOAs, or homeowner associations, also property owner associations (POAs). These communities, while private governments, function much like cities with more than 9 million residents in these localities in California. As such, ALTACITIES, "alternate cities," are larger than the combined populations of the four largest cities in the state, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco.
